frank dux?

whilst laughing my way through bloodsport the other night i was astonished (and very sceptical) to read it was based on a real person called frank dux.

a quick check with wikipedia confirmed my suspicions that frank dux's grandiose claims on winning the kumite and koing about 100 people in a row were about as solid as ashida kim's ninja credentials.

But apparently his book is still an enjoyable read so was thinking of picking it up as very cheap on certain sites. Has anyone read it and does anyone have any more info his claims and attempts to prove he is genuine. (correct me if i am wrong but any cia guy wouldn't tell anyone he is cia in the first place would he!!!!!?????)

Thank you

"Show me Dim Mach!".
"Bottomwan!"

I am pretty sure that he also does the fighting choreography on some martial arts films.

yeah he did apparently then he and van damme fell out because van damme was gonna make a movie called "the kumite" and pay frank some money. but eventually it was made as the quest, which we all know is a classic of our times.

I think I read somewhere that the film titled 'Kumite' was back on the cards again. It seems as if Van Damme wants a film based on that title whatever happens. But I'm pretty sure that has also been put on the back burner for now due to finances or legal stuff. Also, I think Bolo Yeung was signed up for it but pulled out cos he was pissed off about something. I think it was on the IMDB. I'll check it out and see what I can find.

I'd forgotten how good a movie it was until it was shown on TV in the UK a few night ago... a pure classic!

kumite

Found that. I'm sure there was something on IMDB aswell but it appears to have been removed or something.

I actually watched the lawsuit between Dux and Van Damme a few years ago on Court TV. It was pretty funny because they were introducing evidence about what a sham DUx was through out the whole trial.
