I have a fossil of a trilobite. It's about an inch long. I couldn't imagine something 8 feet long.

I watched an evolution of Earth documentary a week or two ago. They covered these giant sea scorpions. Pretty creepy.

Here's a really icky one:

That's really cool. I used to be in love with fossils and dinosaurs as a kid. I used to have an ammonoid fossil and book that my grandmother got me, but I haven't seen that in forever. It's probably in storage somewhere at my mom's house. I never thought about buying fossils online, but I wouldn't mind getting a few to keep around the house.

did this sea scorpion have the tail stinger so typically noted of the species ?

Scorpions dont look that functional to me, even though Im somewhat fascinated by them all the same. Actually, any idea where they came from (please dont) ? Im curious as to their evolutionary heritage.

heh, I thought a delayed picture might load or some such. Well be that as it may, as with my first question, Im curious about the underlying evolution of the structure of these creatures rather than their environmental counterparts.
