Floyd Rose vs. Fixed Bridge

I'm about to buy an electric guitar soon. My background is classical guitar and I stopped years ago. Now, I wanted to play with a new style!

Which of these two are your preferences?

A floating tremelo is by far prefered than a fixed bridge. You'll stay in tune much longer.

no u wont ^^^ i play with a floyd rose and floating trems dont have a locking nut floyd orse is the best out there, fixed bridge is a pain and ure guitar stays in tune longer. it would be best to buy an ibanez with the pro edge 2 trem system that is far superior.

^^^ you should look into it. I brought one of those badboys into the local fender shop, and they guy refused to talk to me. I think he was jealous; it was the best guitar in there. Mad riffs

it's all a matter of preference. a lfoyd rose will stay in tune through anything once tuned, but it's a pain in the ass to tune or change. i would only get one if you plan to get whammy-crazy and plan to play only in standard tuning. also depending on how you anchor your rigth hand you can affect the pitch.

on my guitar, you don't even needed a whammy. But you can get a whammy (breakfast) at Denny's for 2.99, I think.

If you had a Floyd Rose you could add some nice effects to your classical style!

A fixed bridge is good for beginners. If your getting back to the guitar after a few years this may be perfect for you. Get a Floyd after you've been at it for a while. They are a pain in the ass if you are not used to them.
