Faith and MMA
Hey all,

I write for a site called hollywoodjesus.com, which looks at pop culture from a spiritual perspective. I've just recently published an article there on MMA, faith, and how the two relate--you know: is fighting wrong, what about "turning the other cheek," etc. Given the strong "fight for Christ" type sub-culture within MMA (Matt Hughes, etc.), I thought it might interest some here.

Check it out . . . post thoughts here or there if you like. This is a *pro-mma* article, btw . .

As a side discussion: this Saturday (the 19th), does one buy Affliction, or watch Silva for free? Mmmm . . . I'm dvring Silva and buying the other . . . anyone else?

"Fight for Christ" doesn't make sense to me. Why should Christ favor one fighter over another?

Faith and MMA have nothing in common. Faith is responsible for the deaths of more people in this world then any other single thing on the planet and almost all religions have been consistently discounted. MMA is a sport and spectacle to enjoy.

btw i didnt like that guys article one bit. he just took a buncha quotes from the bible out of context and applied them to MMA.

such as taking the verse "Put on the full armor of God", he essentially relates that to, "Go kick someones ass". dumb.
