Motivation to work out? Even just for the sake fo strength, you know you will look sexy! - Therefore: More poon poon.

Motivation to train and become a good fighter? That means if someone messes with you, and you kick his ass (or their) asses badly, and chicks are watching - Therefore: More punani wanting you.

Motivation to get an education and get a high pay job? w00t teh chickz dig teh ca$h - Therefore plenty puzzy would want you.

Its not quite evolutionary theory, but evolutionary theory would say that the main drive of human beings is to reproduce. Although, that doesn't mean it is a concious motivation.
