I own an amulet red 2003 A4 quattro. I got it certified pre-owned with 17k, and it now has about 54k. I put in upgraded shocks, struts and springs. I had the engine chipped and installed larger injectors, and also put on 18 inch wheels.

It is a good car. Very reliable. You do need to have them serviced regularly, but probably no more so than any other comparable car.

Complaints - one of the leatherette panels on the drivers side is badly cracked. I have had 2 brake light bulbs burn out. the coating on the interior surfaces around the radio and window controls is prone to peeling. The car seems to rattle a lot on the inside - like interior parts seem to rattle. This depends somwhat on the outside temperature.

I would buy another Audi. I really like the B6 A4 (2002-2006). You would do well if the car has low miles, because any major repairs outside of the warranty will be very, very expensive. Parts in generally are ridiculous. For the cracked leatherette panel, they wanted to replace the whole seat cover at a cost of about $900. Laughable.

Let me know if you have specific questions.

I've have a 99 audi a4 for 3 years and I still love it...yeah you got to take care of it like any other car and repairs and pieces are usually more expensive than American cars but in my opinion it's worth it

ya i was told that if the car has quite a few miles, to make sure the timing belt has been changed, do to it`s 800$$ cost for labor.

But a regular service check will cost you what at a audi dealer? If theirs nothing to be changed of course.

I have a late-90's A4 Quattro. I like it, and hate it. It's a good looking ride, it definitely garnished attention. I have the 2.8 V6, so it has so get up and go. The AWD drive train is hella nice.

But it's had some problems too. Gaskets and sensors shorting out and wearing thin. It's not a cheap car to have fixed, body and engine wise. Premium gas prices are a bitch these days.

I'm actually considering selling mine at the moment. Not sure if I'll do it this summer or wait until around the end of the year. If you really like the car and have the money to keep it up and running, I'd say go for it. I'm just personally tired of the hassles that go with it, and am wanting to get another Japanese car as it's replacement.

I have that exact car in silver. Awesome ride, very smooth and not too many technical issues. I don't like the air conditioning system, but my wife says I just don't know how to use it. Anyways, great car.
