He had a small part in "An Officer and A Gentleman". He played the recruit that almost drowned in training. You can see him sitting down next to Richard Gere in the pic.

I think he's an alright actor. I think he has to intentionally ham up his role on CSI to some degree because he's not like that in other movies I've seen him in. He's not like an amazing actor, but I will admit I get a good laugh out of CSI Miami because of Horatio.
