D&D 4th Edition

Ok, so, the new rules are out. I'm interested in gathering people's impressions on it. I've personally played 2nd Edition more than any others, so to me, 4th edition is a HUGE change. My first thoughts are that since everyone can self heal, clerics are less important. The 'powers' set up looks to me like they're trying to emulate MMO'S more than anything, and I'm kind of sad at the lack of Monks and Druids in the Players Handbook.

I'm starting a game this Saturday, so I'll let you guys know what I think in full then, but my first impressions is that this is not the D&D I grew up with. That doesn't mean it wont be any fun though, so I'll try to keep an open mind.

Anyone played yet? Thoughts and experiences?

I never played D&D but I've always wanted too especially when I was into Magic the Gathering. I guess until I can find some nerds it's Neverwinter Nights for me.

I haven't seen the 4th Edition rules yet. I don't imagine I'll be checking them out anytime soon, I never converted from 3rd Edition to 3.5 because I already had a whole bunch of books and they're pretty expensive. I suppose it doesn't really matter, since I haven't played in over a year.

There seems to be quite a few these days. They still provide a certain amount of freedom that an MMO cant give you.

I have the core books but haven't gotten around to reading them. I've heard mixed reviews. I've hear a lot of people saying that they are just going to integrate some of the 4e points into their 3.5 games.
