I have no idea what a platonic friend is. I am a decent looking guy who is very aggressive when I drink. Thus the first time we get drunk together I hit on them and end up hooking up with them

Thats very true, i was friends with a girl for about 2 years and i never really cared to turn it into a relationship, i just really enjoyed hanging out with her. I think after those 2 years of us watching each other go through failed and/or shitty relationships, we decided to turn our friendship into something more, and it was the best relationship of my life. She had to ruin it all by moving to the other side of the country for school though.

If you're worried about things being awkward after, don't be. If she's a true friend it won't matter. If she also wants to hook up with you, even if things don't work out, she'll remember that you were friends - unless it ends on bad terms.

Now that I think about it, my girlfriend and I started out as platonic friends. When we were little kids (like 5 years old) we would hang out together. Eventually I guess we each made different friends and stopped hanging out. When we got older (like 16) we became friends again, but we weren't close friends.

5 years later we started to become closer friends. One night we went to visit one of our mutual friends at school for a Halloween party. She was dressed up as a French Maid and right then and there I decided I wanted to be more than friends with her. After a couple more times of hanging out I went for a move and she didn't push me away. We've been together for like 6 months now.

If you were a real man you would have boned her when you were 5.

That's the key. I've done that before with 2 female friends. The next day it's like "Meh, we were both wasted, no big deal". Still friends with both of them.

I should call one and see if they want to go get a drink...
