Which contemporary musician would be considered a genius 200 years in the future ?
I start with Pat Metheny:
Do you agree ?
What yours ?

None. 200 years in the future nobody will remember people like Kid Rock or care who can ride their bike with no handle bars.

people dont remember kid rock now.
but in the future music will be way different. i always associate electronica music with the future, probably from too much movies.

What about Prison sex? Hooker with a Penis? Pushit?
He is going to be a legend in a odd, perverse way, blending social commentary with other themes. Good stuff.

I think his music has become too niche. I can see what you are saying because I love those songs as well, infact, I love everything he does. Stinkfist and Aenima, however, are works that are really works of a genius, even in poetic form. Not all of his songs are universally true, and much of it is abstract, which detracts from his staying power. Among rock fans, I have no doubt people will remember him for a while, but 200 years is a long time.
