Computer Processor Question

So I am looking into buying a laptop and I've come to quite a cross-roads: Intel Core Duo or AMD Turion 64 X2?

I've seen benchmarks that has the X2 lagging behind the equivalently paced Intel. I'm not a HUGE gamer: Rise of Nations is about the biggest game I play - should I just save the boatloads of cash and go with the fast X2 or go with a lower Duo?

Apparently the intel can be overclocked to easily run at about an extra 1Ghz. It can go higher but then needs liquid cooling. Apparently it pisses over the AMD. However, I have an AMD because they are a good cheap chip.

Yeah, I've seen the benchmarks between the two, what type of price range difference is there?? Is it that dramatically more for the intel??

-Yes, laptop video cards are much better now, comparable to desktop ones.

-AMD chips are cheaper; newer Intel chips perform better.

-Your friends had the right idea two years ago, but things have changed. Intel is currently ahead of AMD in processor quality, especially on dual-core systems.

-The AMD Turion 64 X2 has a noticeable lag when switching loads to the second processor -- it only lasts about half a second, but the more you notice it, the more it will annoy you.

-Go with intel.

dualcore processors are very elite man.

and that guy who said intel>amd is incorrect, your story is ass backwards and as you put it, "two years old" =p

however i'd go with the dualcore technology nevertheless. (incase you're not aware, it's as if having two processors inside of one)

So I guess it really doesn't matter if I'm not doing anything overly intense?

If your only gonna play RON then get an Athlon, much cheaper and damn good. You can get a good one for like £60, or $80...

If you like RON get 'Rome:Total War'. Sick game...

Intell is the standard, wherever they go amd will have follow usually in a better implementation, they can beat benchmark all the time ,..

I do not like any industry standard, these things should be controlled by public laws, imo ...

The whole world are in the hands of few people in a single or few companies ...

I once read a book where a creature from space came to earth ate all papers, can you imagine no ids, land scriptures, contracts, money, books, paints, pictures gone in a single event ?
