I did not really like Rant or Survivor.

Love his other books though.

Rant and survivor were just boring to me

I'm a big fan, and I'll be getting snuff when it comes out.
Since you're a fan of his, you should definitely pick up Choke, that's one of my favorites of his. Rant was really entertaining, I enjoyed that one a lot. And Haunted was so crazy and well formed, and you're right, there was some pretty disgusting shit that I learned from that one. It's nuts that people actually passed out when he read the Guts chapter at some of his book readings.

Yeah, I have read a bunch of his works. Not a huge fan, really just read them because they are part of American pop. culture. But, I find that most people that profess to like him are elitist assholes who like to sit around and rave about esoteric meanings hidden in his work. His pieces are ok for entertainment, but I don’t think there is anything any deeper than that, sheer entertainment value. He isn’t the next Faulkner or Vonnegut, that’s for sure.

agreed. Chuck is awesome because his stories are great and amusing but they are what they are and nothing more. I enjoy his work because I always want to know what happens next. Very few others do that for me. Well actually... really only 1 does. B.E.E the man behind American Psycho. While the book sucked ass for drawing me in for the first 1/4... the rest was awesome.
