I would agree with on the affection level with everything except a bearded dragon. My interest is far more deep than affection for reptiles though.

Chameleons are a challenge for a first time herp keeper. Beardies are a great starter. I've been keeping reptiles for 15 years. I mostly do venomous know though.

Don't use those heating pads that stick tot he bottom of the aquarium. They can seriously kill small lizards.
