Chameleons should just sit in their cage and be looked at.
I had one a few years ago, but it died from a "failure to acclimate." That seems to be the fate of a lot of chameleons. They just don't do well in captivity. I would never buy one again. It's not fair to them. If you want a lizard, I hear iguanas are more people friendly.

no no no no no... please do not get an iguana... yes they are people friendly but the industry is aweful and they get too big for most pet owners to handle...
instead consider a cornsnake or king snake... or if your set on a lizard bearded dragons are great... crested gecko's are pretty badass too.
i myself own a 3 yr old california kingsnake
a 1yr old red tail boa
and a baby red eared slider turtle

I had both a veiled like this one and a Jackson. I also had another species when I was younger, and I've been looking for images online, but I can't find it.
What you said might be true about veiled chameleons that are bred in captivity, but I'm not sure if that's the case with most pet stores. Maybe they are bred like that in some places, but I'm pretty sure the ones I had were wild.

Yeah, I heard bearded dragons are friendly, too.
I used to keep a rat snake when I was probably in 4th grade. I used to feed it mice and baby chickens.

Ya the Jackson you had was most likely wild caught. Ya all the pet stores carry captive bred Veildeds. They are not exported.

Bearded Dragons rule. Have you seen the Translucent morph?
They have solid black eyes and their skin looks traslucent..
Also the scaleless...... They're called silkbacks, a guy in Italy was the first to produce these...

Cool. Yeah I bred them myself. They're cool lizards. They have the most personality out of all the reptiles. They're almost like a dog in some respects.
