This is my female chameleon, I just purchased her a few days ago now for roughly $100(nearly $300 total after the cage and accessories). She is a very sweet animal (usually) and is relatively easy to handle. As far as I know, shes pretty young still and they have a respectable life span for a seemingly fragile creature. Ive been doing alot of research on them lately, but if anyone has any tips, facts, experiences etc. to share by all means feel free to throw in your two cents.

Awesome pet, I used to have a female veiled chameleon which is what yours appears to be. One of my favorite pets ever. Yours looks great, and it's fun watching them eat.

It's not Zartan. It blends in with it's natural habitat.

Poor thing. Most chameleons suffer in captivity and are sick from stress related illnesses. You should make sure he is kept in as large of a cage as possible. Also, chameleons shouldn't be handled unless necessary. It causes them too much stress. They don't make good pets. For the most part, you shouldn't ever touch them. Chameleons should just sit in their cage and be looked at.

I had one a few years ago, but it died from a "failure to acclimate." That seems to be the fate of a lot of chameleons. They just don't do well in captivity. I would never buy one again. It's not fair to them. If you want a lizard, I hear iguanas are more people friendly.

Veileds do great in captivity and are very hardy. What kind of Chameleon did you have? Most likely the one you had purchased was wild caught. When this is the case most of them come in with parasites in their stomach. Then once they are in captivity the level of parasites raise because of stress and what not. Unless they are treated the end result will be them not eating and dying.

The Chameleon Flex purchased was captive bred and will do great and live a long time as long as it is properly taken care of.

Iguanas are actually awful pets for people and I discourage people from getting them unless they are hardcore reptile enthusiast. Iguanas grow close to six feet and require alot of space. They are the most abandoned reptile in the market due to this reason.
