I'm not going to read all of this ridiculously long thread but I will second an earlier comment that In-n-Out doesn't have the best burgers, but certainly some of the best fast food burgers.
If you are truly interested in a GREAT burger and some good beer check out FATHER's OFFICE in Santa Monica (Ithink theymay have recently opened a satellite location somewhere, I don't know where).
That is a freaking GREAT gourmet burger at a not ridiculous price.
