As much of a dork as I am I have never watched Battlestar Galactica or even Star Trek for that matter.

I've never watched star trek. But Battlestar Galactica is good. I thought all the action scenes would look horrible because sci-fi makes all those crappy made for tv movies that look like poop, but they're really good looking.

They have 5 episodes for free on Hulu.com and the BSG site at SciFo.com has some free episodes as well.

The SciFI network has been doing a BSG marathon every day this week. The have replayed the whole series and my DVR is pretty much full now.

How could the humans agree to an alliance? I could not see that happening.

At the end of the 3rd season there was a teaser that kind of hinted (maybe I took it wrong) that the people of Earth were against the colonies and cylons.

Think about it, if we were just chilling in our super advanced earth with lasers and spaceships and stuff, and two alien races just showed up, I think that we'd try to blow them out of the sky, for our own protection.

But I could have completely misinterpreted the whole thing.

I did not see the teaser you are talking about. I had assumed, and we all know what happens when you do that, that Earth would be modern day not future or even past.

That would be aan interesting standoff if Earth was at the same level of technology as the show and all of a sudden two fleets of ships pop in for a visit.

In the original series they were modern day and I assume in this series it is the same
