Anyone willing to review the draft of an MMA novel?

I wrote a draft of a novel about 5-6 years ago which I only shared with a few friends and never attempted to publish. Now, with the upsurge in interest in MMA, I've been told by a couple of them that they I should make an attempt to publish it.

I can't stand reading and critiquing my own work, but if someone is interested in doing so, I'd be happy to share the draft. I wanted the story to tell of a person trying to find identity and purpose in the modern world and MMA (actually NHB for the period it was written) is just the background for his actions. If someone is really interested, I'd ask:
1) That the questions and feedback be through PM or private channels, I'm not offering the draft to the forum
2) That the reader provide at least some editorial ideas. You don't have to read through for spelling and grammar but I'd like suggestions on trimming it and you'll notice an "era" for the fight almost immediately and I'm debating whether to update this for the modern MMA scene although there may be some "romanticism" in the larger-than-life personas that used to dominate the sport.

Thanks for the feedback already. I wasn't sure if anyone was going to take me up on this, but I'll probably just have a couple of people read it at this point b/c getting too many conflicting comments might be troublesome.

It's about 140 pages single-spaced in Microsoft Word and it's been through one proofread. It would probably be about the equivalent of a 250 page book in standard layout. If the people who have already responded are still interested, PM me and I'll send a copy to the first couple.

Depending on how it goes, maybe I'll pseudo-publish it for the Sherdog audience, although that may force me to become a more considerate poster in the future.

Are you sure this is a good idea?

Obviously you're not worried about intellectual property....

Not really. I have records of when it was written in a few places. But this isn't how I plan on earning a living. Like I said it's been collecting dust (bad sectors?) for a few years now and I'm getting some pressure from other people who think it should be published.

I got my volunteers, so thanks for the responses.
