im pretty sure your intelligence is hard locked at birth. but you can educate yourself and increase your knowledge. the best way to do that and excersize your brain is to read, read, read, books...not internet, or computerized books, but sit there quietly at home, or anywhere and just read books.
make sure the books are about topics that will enlighten you or inform you about something you are interested in, and something that will empower you, and enable you to grow. reading comics and pulp fiction is not going to enlighten you.
and than seek out people to discuss this stuff with. talking about it sheds new light on things you might never have imagined.

omega 3 fatty acids are what you are seeking in fish. you can take fish oil supplements for that.
also, blueberries are supposedly very good brain food.

reading about something new is essential to this. you must read about something you do not have expertise in. for example, a doctor shouldn't read about a new medical procedure in an attempt to bolster his/her critical thinking. reading about politics or economics would be far more beneficial.

It's not. At his age though it will be hard for him to make a drastic improvement. And I don't even know how old he is. Or if he's a guy.

Read Josh Waitzkinīs book 'The Art Of Learning - A Journey In The Pursuit of Excellence'.

Basically, itīs only a hinder to think of your intelligence, or talent, or what you want to call it, as the defining factor in success with your endeavors. The proper learning methods and devoting youself fully to a learning process is what will get you far.

i doubt they're much you can do to become significantly smarter, but i think being in math classes, doing puzzles, that kind of thing, keeps your mind sharp. tv is the exact opposite.

neuroplasticity is a new and exciting field of research. changing the way your brain is wired is possible. you just have to know how to do it for what you want to accomplish.

I used to take IQ tests in High School. I started off at 143 and after awhile, I got up to 151. My first 7 or 8 tests were pretty much all at 143. Then the last few were 151. I think that when you challenge your brain, it does better. It grows in capacity.

I've always considered intelligence your ability to absorb knowledge. Like someone stated earlier, I think intelligence isn't necessarily "hard locked", but I do think everyones mind has its capacity.
