Patton seems to have better range, and has done a broader variety of work. Kiedis on the other hand can keep a band together without all the members eventually hating him and leaving. Personally i prefer patton
The original fued was because Kiedis accused Patton of ripping him off his stage persona. Patton denied this and said "Flea, in all seriousness, really isn't that good. I mean c'mon Red Hot Chilli Peppers were vaguely interesting in the late 80s, but Christ they fucking suck, they suck" He also made a video depicting him injecting herion due to the chilli peppers problems at the time.
Kiedis then had Mr Bungle removed from several big festivals the Chilli peppers were headlining saying at the time: “I would not have given two fucks if they played with us there, but after I heard about some Halloween show where they mocked us and read another interview where Patton talked shit about us, and I was like, you know what, fuck him and fuck the whole band.
