Annoying Fax Machines

I have an annoying problem with fax machines. Pretty much every day my home phone gets at least 8-10 calls from random fax machines. If we're not home, the voice mail picks it up. So I have to go through and listen to 10 minutes of beeping before I can delete them all.

If they call when I'm at home and I answer the phone and hang up on them, they just keep calling back. I called our phone company and there solutions all involved buying some extra feature like call forwarding etc.

Someone told me there was a device you could hook up to your phone that will block fax numbers. Anyone know anything about this? Is it legit?

Huh? I don't own a fax machine. I'm talking about random fax machines calling my home phone number.

lol. that first part was a joke. is there a way you can leave you number on a "do not call list" like we have here in america.

I've tried that, and I've even switched numbers. The problem is that I'm getting these calls from a shit load of different numbers so it's virtually impossible for me to have them blocked.
