Western culture and the US isn't the same. A simple example would be liberalism. Two complete different things for Europeans and Americans. What an American liberal is I don't know but it's spawned into something else. Religion, vastly different how people view religion in western Europe and USA. The list goes on but those are 2 examples I took off the top of my head.

its terrible. our children are turned into sex symbols at younger and younger ages at the behest of liberalism. MTV corrupts youth worse than ever before, (1/4 of all american teenage girls have an STD 1/2 of the same for african americans), and MTV has nothing conservative about it, all they do is play political charged music to brainwash kids along with comedy central.

Hollywood puts out message movie after message movie, and when americans got sick of it, they raised ticket prices to make profits back and went to a world stage to sell more tickets. Liberalism runs the wasteland that is our international cultural outlet, and let me tell you, Muslims seeing our women whore themselves in TV and movies day in and day out swear an oath to never let that happen to their wives and daughters, and they fight about it.

The cheap and easy way in sports is all the rage, b/c in this liberal Sue happy nation, the easy way is the preferred way(the conservative states still have some respect and decency left). It doesnt seem to matter in culture how you got it, but just the fact that you got it(k-fed, anna nicole smiths husband, etc etc...)

Our so called lib "role models" marry and divorce like its a f'ing game. yeah that does great things for social cohesion.......

people who watch our TV, our Movies, and read the media and political books better know they are being brainwashed by a corrupt disgusting liberal led culture of hedonism and debauchery. but they are too stupid to notice, pretty soon all the 8-10 year old girls will be wearing daisy dukes and finally in one great moment, americans will realize they need strong conservative men to come and make things right again for america and our culture.

Plus, you're looking at it from the wrong perspective. There are more crappy movies, books, music, etc. coming out per year now, but there are also a ton of good movies being made. My guess is you are overestimating how great it was in the past.

If you look at all the "great" movies from 1965 or whatever , you will probably find a handfull. I would guess there are more good movies being made now, you just have to look harder for them .

You have to put up with a greater crap/great to get a greater total number of great, if that makes sense. You just have to work harder to find it.


Edit: Or you could be right and we could blame the liberals.

It kind of depends on what you define as our culture. I'd say our culture is personal liberty which produces a lot of the above, but, I wouldn't trade it for any other.

This is actually what is wrong. NHB7 hit it too. Its all one thing or another, its all the liberals fault or the conservatives. And our discussions have devolved into hate filled venom spewed at the nearest "other" pinning all of the worlds trouble's on them. I'm liberal, and I get tired as shit of hearing the "damn conservatives" bullshit as I do the "damn liberals."


My one critique is we are becoming a culture of hate and drama. Hateful soundbites have replaced logical arguments

who would you say runs our culture? the TV, movies, music and pop culture? would you say conservatives have a stranglehold on all those mediums. if so, then you can blame conservatives for our trash culture of today.

The diametrically opposed viewpoints and polarizing strategies have taught us that if we yell louder than our opponents then we win the argument. We are used to watching extremist pundits represent their more moderate peers and refusing to compromise or listen and we think that this is an acceptable way for politics to work. The networks show two crazy extremists yelling at each other because your average stupid viewer finds it more entertaining than intelligent debate. The media care more about ratings than helping and informing people of what the country is truly about.
