Icon6 Just got back home after 6 months, now I'm feeling shitty again, help a dude.

Ive been on active duty in the US Army for the last 6 months and im finally home, some things have changed like moving to a diff house a few miles away nothing too different. I still live with my parents and i'm 22. I went out to the bar the first friday I was home and and had a great time, made out with a bunch of girls had alot of confidence and wanted to truely have fun which I did.

Well I've been home for about a week now and things are strting to settle, I still have my military discipline and i'm awaiting a possible deployment. Besides that though I've lost all the desire to live wild and have fun like the first few days I was home.

I miss all the guys at the barracks, all the guys that got picked on including myself. Just missing being one of the guys. Now that I'm home I'm feeling like im getting softer and softer each passing day and I'm getting worried. When i first got back and while on active duty I would see other guys and putem in a choke hold or just whatever, when i passed by females I would laugh and what not cause they are weak little things. Now i''m starting to feel like a pussy again. WTF do I DO WITH MYSELF!

I'm thinking about joining a BJJ gym nearby and getting into it, hopefully to get that attitude back. I don't know why I feel like i'm getting softer but I can tell. I'm getting paranoid of people again and going back to my old ways. I must do something now. Anyone been in this kind of position before? Even on different terms.. Discuss

I think you just need to get back to your old routine. My friend volunteered to go back to Iraq because he felt like atleast he was doing something there and he is regreting it. Enjoy being home while you can.

Yeah, this happens to a lot of guys who come home. It's really the Military fault because they don't try and help the guys transition. All I can say man is just get used to it, life isn't like it was in the Army.

i see, so i guess then just try to adapt to your good old habits. stay away as far as you can from shoting someone. just buly people around joing the bjj school. i guess thats what i would do but its every man for his own.

not quite sure what to make of that statement.
no offense but it sounds like you don't like making decisions on your own for your future.

the army is a perfect fit for you and you should try and progress down that career path. it's not a bad career for some.

Yeah, your options are really just get a job, go to school, or go back to the armed forces. Join a gym of some sort to stay in shape and just generally be a well-rounded individual. That's really what life is about regardless of who you are.

Why did you wait 8 months to make your first post?

I meant my attitude is different, it was to have fun, now i really am angry, ill go get laid, how about that!
to be honest about making my own decisions on my future is sort of sure, i am very unsure right now what path to take. i plan on attending college soon again...
