So , for the 2nd time they are putting an Indian to play role of Vega, a White Spaniard. Vega and this Taboo guy have nothing in common except for the language that they speak. I wouldn't make a big deal out of this, but as I said before, this is the 2nd time they have done this. Now I know why people criticize America for it's lack of geography/culture knowledge.
Would it be right for an American- Chinese to play the role of Balrog, a black boxer ? No. But they do have more in common than this Taboo guy and Vega. Double-standards at it's best.
The actor doesn't have to be Spanish at all, but he would have to resemble Vega. There are alot of white actors in America that fit perfectly.
Does it really matter? What does a production crew on a sequel to a B rate movie not giving a shit to satisfy fanboys that require "realism" to their video game adaptations/comic books have to do with American ingnorance? All that matters is that they bring back Jean Claude Van Damme- who brought serious credibility as a gymnast from Belgium to the role of Guile- to do another great speech:

I'm not saying somewhere in my bleeding liberal heart there isn't a little voice saying to me "it's not that hard to get the geography to a video game character right...guys pick up your game", but seeing as how we're talking about a video game, and not some politician not knowing the difference between Sunnis and Shias, it's of little importance, especially in the context of how this speaks to the geographical ignorance of America and/or our xenophobic tendencies or something.

But this isn't the first time America has done this. You guys wouldn't give jet li a role to play the role of Guile. This would be the same situation for Vega-Taboo in other countries. But then again this is America, where Mexican is a "race", lol.

lul what
So? Most people in Spain have dark features more similar to the Indian guy than with the blonde-haired drawing.
Plus in the original SF Vega had dark hair, it wasn't until one of the later ones that he was portrayed as a blonde.
