Am I more irritable, or are movie goers worse these days
I don't have horrible road rage, but I have certainly felt that rush of anger and violent images go through my mind for that breif flash moment after someone nearly side swipes me while changing lanes without looking. But more and more I have had that same sort of feelings at movie theaters. I go to the theaters a lot cuz I love movies. I can't tell if I'm just more impatient these days, or if more and more people have just completely forgotten movie etiquette.
I can't seem to go to a movie without having my seat kicked or someone talking as if they were having a casual conversation behind me. Its as if people don't understand the concept of whispering. Sometimes I hear them talking as if they are trying to whisper, but just don't know how, like when a little kid first learns to whisper and think that simply putting a hand to one side of their mouth will hush their tone.
It drives me nutz. Anyone else feel like movie going etiquette has been completely lost, or am I just getting old?

I was at a movie where a lady was talking on her cell phone for the first 5 min, and she got mad at me for telling her to stop talking. I even did it nicely b/c I was with my little brother from BBBS.
Also, the movie theater by me is 16 and under have to have a parent for all movies and no kids under 10 in any movie after 7pm

I've been more irritated in theaters also. Between the loud ass teenagers, people kicking chairs, and people bringing screaming little babies to the movies, I just want to rip someone's head off sometimes.

Yeah, I only go to movies that have been in theaters for a while so I know no one will be there.

Seriously. Recently, I've had quite a few movies ruined for me by obnoxious assholes. So now, I either watch early matinees or wait until the movie gets less popular and catch it just before the theaters get rid of it.
Moviegoers these days have no fucking respect for others. What the fuck is our world coming to?

I wish there was some sort of penalty for these types of people. For example
Offense: Talking on the Cell Phone once the movie starts
Penalty - Phone thrown against the side of the head
Offense: Bringing a crying baby and/or some underaged child to the movie.
Penalty: Tarring
Offense: Being a loudmouthed teenager who won't STFU
Penalty: A beatdown
