9V battery powered active bass:is there a no battery solution?

Hey guys, I've been playing electric bass with active pickups for a while now, and it uses a 9V battery. I was wondering, is there something I can get to allow me to play without the battery? Nowadays just jamming at home, I don't want to be changing batteries on it. I'm not sure if something like this even exists, but is there like a special cable or something I can hook up from bass to amp to allow me to play without having a battery in?

Thanks.

Passive pickups.

Active pickups will always need a battery to play through an amp. Your regular 1/4" patch cord cannot transfer electricity to your bass from your amp to power it. I suppose some modification to plug your bass into a DC power adapter would be possible, but as far as I know, it'd be a custom job.

Thanks for the info. My bass was pretty pricy so I wouldn't consider getting another passive pick up bass. My batteries seem to only last for 6 months average. I was thinking if there was something like a DC powered adaptor to hook up to my bass as well.
