What do you think of Nishijima at MW?

With what I saw last night, if he learns a ground game he could be a force in mma. His striking is top-notch, and has a Hunt-like head of iron. I don't think he could hang with the HWs though. Him at MW could provide some really entertaining matches IMO.
Any thoughts?

He's got a great jab, that's for sure. I'd like to see more of him, he definitely didn't embarass himself.

He weighs 95kg right?..That's a bit heavier than LHWs.. He could fight at 92...He would do good vs Silva imo..I don't know if he'd win..but his striking is better for sure.

He got mounted by Mark Hunt. He needs SERIOUS training to improve his ground game. All he knows how to do is how to hold on for dear life. He has ways to go.

As far as MMA boxers go he'd have to be near the top IMO, after all how many MMA fighters have a 24-2 boxing record?

As for dropping weight classes,he should go down 183 lbs IMO.

If he works heavily on grappling, he could do quite well against guys his size. The Japanese fans would probably love to see him do well, too. He could turn into a big draw for Pride FC in Japan if he develops decent grappling skills and submission defense.

Wow....how sweet the irony!

Barnett got mounted by Mirko and controlled on the ground like a whitebelt would vs. Rickson. And Barnett is considered a world-class grappler. So I think considering the massive size and strength difference between the two, the boxer did as well as one could expect.
