Are judges supposed to talk about whether it's a split decision or not? I thought they just sat on their sides of the ring, put down whoever they thought won each round, and if it came to a split decision then it just did. Regardless of what you all think it was a close fight that ended in a UD(be it close 29-28's or easy 30-27's)

I agree, fair loss or not Wanderlei took it in stride and was very classy about the decision. I originally scored it a draw, after watching it a few more times I think Wanderlei won a close decision. Their was one moment that made me extremely proud. The last ten seconds after Rich got that takedown(extremely overvalued by the way, didnt do anything with it and Wand got right back up), Rich was holding on just waiting for the round to end, and Wanderlei just started swinging wild back elbows, doing anything he could to try and win the fight with anything he had. I saw that and smiled and said out loud:"He's still got it." I was very proud and he fought like a true warrior. He can still hang with the big boys, and I saw The Axe Murderer still inside him. So watch out 185, The Axe Murderer is coming to knock you the fuck out.

It's hilarious how some of you have actually convinced yourselves that Wanderlei won this fight. Wanderlei had his moments for sure, but Rich won that fight. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not a good judge, or is just seeing what they want to see.

Anyone who doesnt think it could have gone either way is equally as blind, it was a really close fight. Its not outrageous to me that they gave Franklin the fight, but I personally feel Wanderlei won the fight. Watching the fight with commentary and without were two different experiences for me, with commentary Franklin was "starting to pick Wanderlei apart", without, these exchanges were fairly even the whole time. And Wand was the only one trying to finish the fight, that means a lot to me. Sorry if I think that going for the finish should count for more than one-two, get the fuck out strategies. The truth is Franklin got one somewhat legit knockdown(and no im not one of those Wand fans that thinks he knocked down Liddell numerous times), and Wand was closer to finishing and atleast acted like he wanted to finish the fight, Wand pressed foward the whole time the last two rounds, and landed the more damaging blows. If Franklin's takedown at the end of the third won him the third round, why did Wand's takedown in the first not win him that round? Rich took Wand down, Wand got right back up, Wand took Rich down, worked some ground and pound, then later on got reversed and got a little GnP thrown his way but had control for longer than Franklin, that seems like inconsistent scoring to me. So yes, Wand nuthuggers go overboard a lot, but the anti-Wand nuthuggers have been just as bad if not worse about this fight. It was really close, could have gone either way, I feel Wand won, but what can you do. To claim an easy victory either way is nothing short of stupidity.

oh look, silly Wand-basher is back bashing Wand.
In round 3, with about 2 minutes left, Rogan says something to the effect of "Wanderlei again with a big combination, this could easily be 2 rounds in the books for Wanderlei!"
It was 1-1 in the 3rd, and Franklin was given a win due to a takedown in which Wand was on his back for 11 seconds and Franklin didnt land 1 strike with it. In the 3rd, Wand both threw and landed more of every type of strike. (check FM for stats).
It was a close fight (i honestly believe Wand won) but I suppose it could have gone either way. You saying so confidently that Franklin easily won just makes you look like an idiot.

It ended up being somewhat close, but Wanderlei did not win that fight. If it went the other way the judges would have made the wrong decision.

Oh, nevermind then, I guess if Rogan said that then it must be true. And one last thing, Franklin clearly won that fight.
