Keith Jardine vs. Luiz Cane

After both were victorious tonight, the most logical next matchup for Joe Silva seems to be putting the two of them against eachother.

In my opinion, Jardine is the gatekeeper of the Light Heavyweight Division. With wins over Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin and Brandon Vera, he's shown he's more than capable of hanging with and beating the top dogs in the division. A win over Cane should put him back in that title picture.

For Cane, a win over Jardine should elevate him in to that upper echelon of the division. Jardine would be his toughest fight to date in my opinion, and with both men being strikers, the firework potential of this make it an ideal possibility.

Thoughts?

Yup, good idea for a fight. I'd like to see this one. I think Cane would TKO Jardine.

I agree. Keith seems to have problems with people who aren't afraid to mix it up with him.

Cane's bread and butter is his willingness to trade. I also give him the advantage on the ground.

Still think it'd be a good fight, but I'd go with Banha for the win.

Cane TKO 2nd, but it looks like A.) the fans like the matchup, and B.) they are split between who they think takes it. Sounds like a good match to me.

I dno what to think of Jardine, he has wins over some tough dudes, but horrible KO losses, right after those impressive victories..

If he actually worked on how to deal with brawlers, hed be damn near unbeatable..

The sad fact is, Jardine will probably age horribly, after being knocked unconscious alot. If he keeps fighting dudes like houston, Wandy, Sokoudjou, MAYBE James Irvin etc...

But will always beat the guys like Machida, Liddell, Forrest, MAYBE rashad, rampage..

LOL thats a pretty fucked up situation... losing to houston by KO then Beating Chuck for 3 entire rounds!

The fact that Cane took some heavy leg kicks from Soko leads me to think that Jardine will get punsihed in the second, but would be a good fight for both their careers at this stage.

Good choice but I wouldn't expect that until March at the earliest.
