Hong Man Choi would hurt Royce really bad IMHO. Just too big and strong for Royce at his age. I would like to see him against a good BJJ guy of now to see where he really stands. Someone like a Palhares, Lister or or even Yoshiyuki Yoshida.

Id like to see Royce and Rickson do an exhibition together like they Royler and Rickson did at Pride 7.

As for opponents I dont think recreating an old style UFC tournament now especially with people like remco and smith who royce already beat has any interest for anyone.

But if Royce wanted to step into Yamma's 8 man middleweight tournament with modern fighters that would be great and Royce would win imo.

Royce has never been kayoed standing up as he has great reflexes, intuition, poise and can take a heck of a shot.
Tokoro was a fast and very capable japanese striker yet Royce owned him come fight end.

I feel if Royce could learn to really punch with power and speed, he would have kayped Tokoro, Yoshida and even Sakuraba considering the openings he created against these guys but was unable to capitalise on as his striking is weak.

By the way is it just me or did Royce hit harder in the early UFC's? I remember him bloodying the face of Kimo?

I agree and let's not forget that now, there are all sorts of rules that Royce didn't fight under......he had no time limits, the ref didn't stand them up if there was no action, head butts were allowed and you could kick and knee a downed opponant. Royce accomplished the mission the Gracies sent him to do and that was to show that there was no greater fighting style then Gracie Ju Jitsu. Now, every style worth a damn relies heavily on BJJ. Even if they don't use BJJ to win, they need to know it so they don't get beat. Now that the world has seen and encorporated BJJ into their styles, BJJ has had to encorporate others into theirs to keep up, but until the UFC, the greatest real fighting style was BJJ.....never foget that.

I do love to watch Royce's fights....I respect him, win or lose. How can you not? He beat a roided out 250 Kimo, who came out slicked up with vaseline, I could care less if he gets beat by a modern MMA champ....Royce is still a legend.

I'd like to see him fight Ken Shamrock again. Both are past their primes. That doesn't mean it won't be a great fight though.
