Penn wins standup bigtime, loses to GSP's little takedowns in later rounds

Don't know if GSP deserves that win. Don't know if I really want to see Penn fight again if that's how he finishes a good fight. I do know that GSP is ahead of Penn in the ranks and Penn can do whatever he wants with his rich ass. I don't know how if your Penn you let GSP get takedowns and stuff like that on you for two rounds. Penn was still winning the standup in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. That's the reason I can see it being a win for him. GSP held him up against the ropes a lot. That wasn't much of a Rush. Oh well, I'm ready for Hughes v Royce and then Hughes v GSP. I was ready to see some shit from BJ but all we got was that first round. Between Penn and GSP I think Penn is the one that comes out feeling like a man but he should have been more of a fighter and knew that judges would score GSP's takedowns. GSP wins though and it's Penn's fault not the judges. Ortiz's win over Vitor was the judges fault though not Vitor's.

i thought it was penn by split. but all respect to gsp. I agree, Penn should know better then to let it go that way. He was in complete control the entire round 1

I thought Penn's cardio would be a little suspect. I think my suspicions were confirmed. Penn definately came out stronger, but as the fight wore on GSP got better.

Would love to see a rematch, but it will now be Hughes (after his destruction of royce) v. GSP which I think Hughes wins. Penn will have to fight Karo or someone similar. Then gets Hghes again. Long road ahead

A rematch would be good but damn BJ!! Hughes walked out of the ring like "the moron should have known better". I think he was afraid of Penn but genuinely wanted the rematch, I guess.

If Penn wanted to win, he shouldn't have fucking vanished after the first round. Hell, he wasn't all that dominant in the first, just GSP was really put off by the cuts and had an awful round. He however kept picking up steam and moving forward, while BJ didn't progress or build on anything. He just seemed he'd win by default because of a few cuts.

That's where I say Penn kept winning the standup and GSP just kept pushing him up against the cage. Penn could have done better. I don't know if GSP could have done better against Penn's punches. Penn's punches tore him up regardless.

It blows my mind that people think Penn won the fight.... he faded after the 1st. Congrats to GSP on a well deserved win.

That's where I say are you sure GSP deserved the win and Penn didn't just give it to him. Also I don't figure holding Penn against the cage and getting a few takedowns against a tired Penn is big shit. All the props to GSP in the world. I actually like the guy now. I'm a fan of anybody that can come back from being beaten to a bloody pulp like that. Seriously, I'm a GSP fan now but what a fucked up mess.
