My take on the "fight"

I feel Like I just wasted $40.00

The two big (anticipated) fights were "let-downs". In a somewhat contraversial move, the referee stopped the fight between Shamrock and Ortiz. Shamrock was getting pounded with elbows - but he did not look helpless. It was too soon - in my opinion.
A couple more seconds, maybe. Either way, Shamrock let himself get into something that he wasn't prepared for.
He started off strong by rushing to Tito to throw (left and right) punches. Some how Tito was able to grapple Ken and soon took him to the ground. There he proceeded to pound on or about Shamrock's face.
Ken never looked that "phased" by any of the shots in rapid succession - he just appeared to be trapped and confused as to just how he was going to get out of his predicament.
I was rooting for Ken but am now questioning just how good of a fighter he is - if he didn't prepare for Tito's tactics - which seemed to be classic Ortiz fighting technique.
Enough said about a sore subject - now the other fight.

Basicly, what we saw was a boxing match. I must say that since I had never seen the two previous fights and didn't know that much about Silvia. From reading these forums, most of you folks would have had me believe that Arlovski was much better of a fighter and that Silvia just got lucky. That could not be the case. Silvia was going toe-to-toe with 'Ski in their (mostly) standup fight. We got to a situation where Arlovski was seemingly afraid to attack for fear of Silvia's excellent counters.
From an ordinary person's point of view, you may think that Silvia was not in that great of shape (physically) because of his appearance compared to Arlovski's.
Let me tell you that his "cardio" must be excellent. Arlovski looked to be the most winded throughout and after the fight.
One last thing, The name of this fighting event was "Bitter Rivals". I could buy into that for Tito and Ken - but Arlovski and Silvia actually seemed to get along well. So much for building up a fight.

1. What name did Vitor Belfort reportedly consider changing his name to?
Vitor Gracie to be bestowed by carlson. The rest of the family went crazy.

2. What combo did Pedro Rizzo throw to KO AA?
1,2--jab, right cross

3. What bout is the shortest in UFC history?
Don Frye Tommy Ramirez

4. What bout is the shortest in Pride history?
Gomi/Ralph Gracie

5. Name three Igor Vovchanchyn Nicknames.
Ice Cold, Leathel Weapon from the north, Ukrainian Hammer

6. How did the BTT/Chute Boxe fued originate?
According to friend who trained at Chute Boxe for 6 years (biased towards chute boxe). Way back in the day, some guys from the old Gracie camp were in Curituba. Apparently they got into a pissing contest with some of the chute boxe guys at a club (both were not major players in their camps). It was a sign of disrespect; led to chute boxe showing up at their gym in Rio. A 7 man (I think it was 7, and no not 7 on 7. LOL) private challenge match was set up. Like an IFL event I guess. Anyway Chute Boxe won all 7. Things were said; it was a huge embarassment. Since BTT has its roots in this camp...it carried over.

7. Why is BJ Penn called "the prodigy"?
Cuz he won an open belt BJJ comp as a white belt. It took him 4? years to get a Black belt.

8. Name two amusing examples of language barrier moments in UFC.
GSP--farily and squarely Wandy--I want to fuck...fight chuck.

9. Name at least 2 times when a cup was broken in an MMA bout.
Igor Vov v. Goodridge II, I don't know!

10. Give another name for each of the following subs:
kimora, anaconda, and side-arm choke.
chicken wing, gator roll, arm triangle.
