Mrs. Garrett

Please stop. You are obviously a member in good standing of the "Nanny State" you probably would like to see the NFL start using flag and also would probably support the UFC switching to "Karate Kid"points style fighting, with no head shots. Give me a break!

People pay big money to watch these events, the KO is the payoff, although I do agree that Bedlam is not PPV worthy.

He truly is the worst ref in the sport. Vera had his hands up and was not nearly close to being done.

That was a very bad stoppage

You tell everyone to stop crying, yet you admit you didn't watch the fight? Are you really this slow?

Nope, not the guy you think I am.

You're obviously a Vera fan. Who's making excuses. Too bad. He lost.

If he dropped down to LHW... he wouldn't be getting owned by middle of the road HWs.

Actually, I didn't really said stop crying.

I said, there a reffing tragedies constantly. I personally would favor a mistaken early stoppage over a late. You can redo a fight if there was some kind of serious gaffe.

But you can't uninjure somebody. The rules are there to protect the fighters from injury. I don't care if the fighter thinks he should have been allowed to keep fighting either.

I can't wait to see this fight with my own eyes. I wouldn't be at all suprised to see it be a valid stoppage. There are a lot of people out there who like Vera a whole lot. And emotion clouds judgement.

Not a Vera Fan

Definitely not a Vera fan, but bad stoppages are always bad, no matter who you are rooting for. If you are a fan of the sport than you would know that. It's people like you who "through the years have brought down the combat sports from true gladiator style events, like boxing used to be, to over regulated garbage like we saw last week from EliteXC.

Nice attempt.

I never said I was a fan of early stoppages. Only an complete idiot would try to portray it as such.

I said an early stoppag is better than a late one.... due to obvious fact that a late stoppage can have serious consequences.

Being a fan of MMA..... I also don't want to see the sport ended by lawmakers. Because the sport was careless with it's observance of the rules and fighters got seriously injured.

I'm no Vera fan since I have barely seen him fight. The stoppage was complete bullshit. This is the same guy who let Kimbo take 100 unanswered blows to the head while his arms were in a crucifix. Vera was defending himself and the fight was stopped after 10 seconds, Kimbo wasn't defending himself and got beat for over a minute. Don't tell me those blows didn't do anything, Kimbo's entire team went to help him up.

It doesn't matter what the guy did last week.

He made a mistake last wekk...... so he is supposed to keep making that mistake, otherwise he is being inconsistent. How stupid is that? Answer: It's the stupidest.

Eventually I will see a replay and know the truth. But I have my suspicions at this point.

Vera will get every chance in the world. I have no doubt about this. I just hope he uses this and it forces him to drop down.
