Kudos to Kang
Something I realized towards the end of the event was that Kang was a good sport the entire time.
He did it for the fans.
First off, he comes into the event after his FIANCEE DIES. And he suffers a ruptured shoulder tendon which could've easily been ANOTHER reason to pull out.
Not to make any excuses, but Denis did not look as focues or motivated as he used to. Go watch the pre-fight interview, he just looks distracted as hell. I made a post about it before the event even started.
Thirdly, he goes into the final match with all kinds of arm injuries, strained rotator cuff. That's TWO significant injuries on the SAME SHOULDER. He could've easily done the Filho and pulled out of the finals. Even then he still elected to fight in the finals.
And he was gratefull in defeat.
The guy's been through alot these past couple weeks and I've gained alot more respect for him. I hope he gets a rematch against Misaki when he doesn't have 3 injuries to his punching arm.

Kang's performance was nothing but spectacular. I wish him the best of luck and hope he recovers soon enough so we can see him back in action.

I agree.
But there won't be a rematch until those two are the last fighters in PRIDE. If you take your hand and start counting with your fingers how many foreigners have gotten a rematch against a Japanese fighter, you will have trouble raising one. The only one is Azeredo/Gomi 2. That was because Chute Boxe went apeshit about the incident in the first fight, DSE had to do it. Even then it was put in the tournament as a possibility to happen, which it did. There is however a second one, Royce/Yoshida 1&2, it happened, because again, they went apeshit. But nobody counts the first match, Fight Finder neither. So sorry, Misaki/Kang won't happen.

You forgot about his torn bicep. But yeah, he put up a really good fight considering the circumstances.

I think he won still, but either way I give Misaki full credit and IMO that was one of the better fights I've seen. I'm a HUGE Misaki fan now and even bigger Kang fan, both of those guys are straight fucking warriors.
