K. Shamrock
The guy was just robbed. He is in the twilight of his career. He knows this. We know this. This fight was really his last chance at making a splash in the modern UFC and probably his last chance to go out with a bang, on top.
Tito got a big takedown and then threw some elbows, some of which were partially blocked. Ken didn't look hurt at all . Yet, the ref stepped in and stopped the fight.
Ken was extremely pissed. This has to be frustrating for him.
I understand fighter safety in the sport but when I see fights like Quarry vs. Franklin continue while other fights like this one are stopped when no one is really hurt, I have to question the refereeing in the UFC. IMHO Herb Dean is not a UFC caliber ref.
Shamrock was robbed but Tito was also robbed. Both of these guys really came to fight and this one would've been one of those fights you watched over and over again. It would've been a war. But instead of that, we the fans, and the fighters, are left with that pathetic spectacle we saw in there tonight.
It is a real shame to see Ken go out like this. Hopefully he'll get a match with Tank or a 3rd fight with Severns so he can end his career on a positive note and go on and do some color commentating for the UFC.

legends vs modern day warrior is just retarded dude... i know your pissed and shit cause the fight was stopped early, but i just dont see what ken shamerock could have done against tito, i think it was a good thing that the fight was stopped that early, i like ken shamerock his a pioneer and i dont like watching him take such brutal beatings, espeically in his age.

I was literally swaering at the tv, I never say the f-word but I threw it out 4 times. 5 elbows, 3 partially blocked and hit his ear. , one hurt him, but the others didn't. This after Yves was bleeding like a stuck pug and getting pounded on worse (poor Yves), and Mir pounded Christison worse in round 3 of their fight. Tito did the same thing to Forrest and no stoppage. Horrible, probably the worst stoppage I've ever seen, worse than Quarry/Sell, worse than Sak/Shamrock 1, just sickening. I noticed the recap of Monson/Perosh that Monson landed about the same shots and Dean stopped it, but at least Perosh was knocked down and hurt. Just rediculous. It made me sick. Ken should get an immediate remate at UFN 6 in August.
I don't know what brutal punishment butcher is talking about, should it have stopped when Ken threw that flurry and rocked Tito off the bat (btw, Ken, back off next time, don't let him get in close for the td, especially at the cage, and don't leave it to an idiot ref, block the shots, apparently any more than 4 equals a stoppage).

Double post, but just to reiterate, it was pure unadulturated suck, you don't have to like Ken to think that, if Tito were in the same position, I would think exactly the same.

that's fucking stupid! What do you think, they should have just introduced the fighters to the octagon, then said "Well, since we don't THINK Shamrock has a chance, we're going to cancel the fight and call Tito the winner??"
Sorry, dude...but speculation isn't what a fight should be stopped for. You don't know that he couldn't have come back and won the fight.
I agree, that Herb Dean has fucked up!!! I think the UFC needs to take a serious look at him and his judgement abilities. This decision was not only questionable, but even suspicious and suspect. Things like this can easily and quickly add up to making the fans question the credibility of the UFC, and whether fights are "rigged" or real.
I hope Tito doesn't go bragging about this fight. Although he was in the lead, I don't think this is a win that he can really be proud of. I think he knows that and that's why he was already saying he'd fight again. Maybe this was some kind of plot to get more hype up for their third fight.
Frank Mir was disappointing. He needs to look really hard at this performance tonight. If he can't see many failures in this fight, he should go not fight again. I think he's a great fighter, but obviously, something wrong in his training went badly wrong prior to this fight. Even after the fight, he could barely talk, he was so worn out.

Very True!
There needs to be some better criteria for fight stoppage than what we saw.
