K-1 HERO'S 2006 PbP

Okay, here's the Play By Play for tonight's K-1 HERO'S event. I've been looking forward to this for quite some time, and I hope that everyone here is enthusiastic about the fights. I have to give all of you credit for staying up this late (early?) for the fights, you guys are real fans! One thing that I ask of everyone is to please do not post spoilers. Reading the PBP is like reading a book, and if someone yells out what happens before the end, it really frustrates the people who are trying to enjoy the fights. Try to keep the arguments out of this thread too. Enough said, enjoy the fights!

We're still in the "general dicking around" stage here. HERO'S wastes time with filler like no other.

All the fighters coming out now. Takaya appears to be wearing a breathe-rite nasal strip. JZ is madd gangsta as per his new image. Uno styling and/or profiling in a slick tracksuit. Gill has an Indian flag with him, even though he's from Surrey.

Ok, first fight: Pequeno vs Boku.

They come out with very little fanfare. Pequeno is wearing his shirt that says JESUS IS LORD on it. Boku stops to pray before the fight.

HERO'S is using the mustard-yellow ring again! Oh no. KID is at ringside, cheering on his teammate Boku.

Round 1:

Boku coming forward and pawing a jab, Pequeno circling away. PEqueno shoots, no go, falls to guard position and gets up without the ref prompting him. Still being very cauitous. 1-2 by Boku misses. Nice left by Boku and they clinch, Pequeno working for the TD, Boku tries to get away, good ankle pick by Pequeno brings him down and he's in Boku's guard.

Pequeno picks him up and slams him as Boku was holding onto his upper body. Good couple of right hands by Pequeno, Boku wants to work hels on hips but Pequeno shifts his weight, couple small left hands and now works some rights to the body. Pequeqeno tries to can oppener him to get him to open his guard up, he's successful and he drops a few good punches, Boku with an upkick and back to his feet again.

1-2 by Boku, Pequeno shoots a double and takes him down, Boku gets heels on hips and pushes him away, Pequeno lands a highkick as he springs to his feet. Pequeno shoots, Boku sprawls on it and they're back up. Right straight by Boku, chasing Pequeno and lands a hard bodyshot as Pequeno goes for a single leg and presses Boku against the ropes.

Now he finally gets that single and Boku almost has half guard on him in close to the ropes, short left by Pequeno as he tries to free his leg and get to the side, but Boku still has a weak half guard. They're inclose to the ropes so not that much room to manouvre. Boku works in butterflies, 1-2 by Pequeno from his guard, now tries to work a leg over to pass.

He gives that up and is back in Boku's closed guard. Right hand by Pequeno. Some fairly weak punches by both guys as they wait out the round to end, Pequeno with some bodyshots as Boku holds an arm. Bell.
