Watch it again. It was just like Sherk v. Hughes. Whoever gets more takedowns wins. GSP won 2-1 on that. Neither did ANY damage to the other once on the ground, but both were mostly successful at keeping the other down. GSP was on his back for half the first round after Kos scored his one takedown. If that had happened just one more time, it would have been a very close fight on the scorecard.
GSP surprised everyone by taking him down, but nobody got dominated there. There was no striking damage dealt, and GSP's kimura was the only submission attempt of note.
