The Gracie's actually don't like the current UFC rules. They feel it doesn't necessarily determine who the better fighter is, simply who the more explosive fighter is. They feel there's not enough time to break down opponents on the ground.

Yes. In so many Gracie interviews (more recent) and even in Al Bundy's interviews (he's a rorian BB , he was the husband in Married with Children sitcom) they talk about how the guys in the UFC (and i guess all MMA use those similar rules) are not the best fighters, just simply tough guys who are very accustomed to the rules.

Darwinist said Roger Gracie is just about the only Gracie active in MMA these days that might be able to hang with the current competition in the UFC.
i listed active gracie fighters that would be able to hang in the ufc, maybe not with champs but there def better then some of the scrubs the ufc has now. i was responding to someones post, not the thread title so you STFU and go back to mayberry

It's worth the effort for a japanese promoter to fork over hundreds of thousands of dollars for a Gracie, ANY Gracie, but in the US nobody's going to tune in just for that last name. The US audience needs more.

IŽd LOVE to see more Gracies in the UFC but they don't seem to be all that interested.
i agree, the next generation of gracie upincomers are still young and only have a few fights, more experience is needed but they can still hang with otehr new guys in the ufc IMO

And he already stated that they can make more money in other organizations based solely on their names, which they can't do in the UFC. All you did was list a couple Gracies that fight but have no business in the UFC at the moment. Your point, if it can even be called that, was already addressed. Go back to mayberry? LOL! Not the right time for that "comeback". Kinda like the guy from Not Another Teen Movie that kept trying to get the "slow-clap" started. Go lurk in the OT for a few weeks and you will learn how to use Mayberry jokes. PS: I see you have quite a few posts in Mayberry. That could explain why your flaming skills are sub-par.

True, the current rules make it a sport. The old rules were basically street rules. Just because someone loses an MMA match, doesn't mean he would lose a street fight against the same guy.

Gregor Gracie is strong and has decent stand up to boot. He got caught in his last fight but look for him to be a huge force in the future.

i agree about making it a sport. look at boxing how long it is... look at jiu jitsu how long it is... now lets ADD the sports together but SUBTRACT time. no dis meant by this but anderson silvas last match... mike goldberg and joe rogan were saying he has never left the 2nd round which he hasnt. now grant it he manage to finish them that fast but put him against someone who is gonna take him even 5 rounds... it deminishes who he is and practically says he isnt fightin like himself so he prolly wont win... its all about the TIME

ps i hate when people argue on forums.. its homo.. and pointless.. juss my 2centos
