On the ground, it's pretty close to a stalemate. Standing, Mir (the new, Ken Hahn trained version) is way better.

Nelson isn't nearly as good of a grappler as Monson

and he schooled Mir 15-2

um no. their ground game doesnt cancel each other out because monsons is far superior.

In an MMA bout I think Mir's standup would help him pull off a decision, In a BJJ match I think Monson would take it...
