What do you guys think? I thought this one up after popping a pill this afternoon to control my anxiety. Monson vs. Mir could be a great heavyweight MMA fight or a marquee grappling match at ADCC. So... what type of bout and who ya got?
I think Mir takes this. Mir's striking is better than Monson's and Mir is stronger. On the ground, I think Mir's BJJ is better than the Snowman's. Remember, Mir broke Sylvia's arm in the first round and Monson had Sylvia in the north/south position several times and could not finish him.
Mir takes it. Mir's good enough on the ground so that Monson's not going pass his guard and sub him....When it is on the feet Mir is going to dominate...

I would give Mir the edge in MMA though. In ADCC, under grappling rules, Mir would be in trouble. His wrestling is inferior and he isnt going to sub Monson.
