Cro Cop's TROJAN HORSE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cro Cop's camp have released infomation that he is training with Remy Bonjasky and Gilbert Yvel. I believe that Cro Cop is definitely a better striker than Congo and would probably KO him in the first round. Also I believe that mirko himself stated that his training for this fight is 80% stand up and only 20% ground game.

Cro Cop is obviously taking this fight seriously as he is also training with great ground fighters such as, Ricco Rodriguez, Sergei Kharitonov and now BJJ magician Dean Lister.

My question is that could Cro Cop's camp have leaked this information to the MMA community so that they could try and fool Congo.

Could Cro Cop actually submit Congo?

Then again, realistically, if I was a betting man, I would put my money on Cro Cop 1stround KO

RIP Congo

I don't think it is necessarily outside the sphere of possibility that Cro Cop could submit Kongo...but I definitely think that shooting immediately will not be CC's gameplan.

What many people have said, and I agree with, is that Cro Cop's pride in his standup can get him in trouble, because he often insists on standing with kickboxers to prove he's a better striker, even when his mediocre ground game could probably defeat them if he just tried a takedown.

Against Hunt, this was obviously the case. And against Kongo I think it will be too. To be honest, I wouldn't doubt that CC's gameplan is to go in there, strike for a bit, and if he's getting the worst of it, he'll take Kongo down. But once he actually DOES get in the cage, and feels that first leg kick slam into him, those first couple punches and knees come his way, that gameplan will go out the window. In his mind, he will essentially say "Oh nooo you didn't you bastard, I'm gonna prove I can K you TFO" But against a lesser opponent like Kongo, I would say that it's likely CroCop would win using either strategy, but I think his desire to prove himself will take him down the wrong path again, even if he wins. If CC was concerned with winning, and winning only, he'd shoot and submit or GnP Kongo immediately.

I think Cro Cop need's to work on his knees and pull away and punch and not attack so much.

If someone goes for a takedown on him he ushally try's a sidekick or grab neck and sprawl like, instead of kneeing the guy in the face..

Come on guys, please don't compare Kongo to Hunt. Hunt's in a whole other division of striking then Kongo. Sure, Kongo is a good striker, but he got KO'd by Yvel. Kickboxingwise Filipovic is much better then Yvel. It's not like his striking is down to zero, just because he was a bit too careless against Gonzaga. I still think Filipovic is going to win this fight, hopefully by (T)KO. And if Filipovic decides to take Kongo down, I'll only see that as an improvement of Cro Cop as a fighter.

Yvel is nothing to scoff at in the striking department. He's a bad man when it comes to stand up fighting. And when he KO'ed Kongo, it was by GNP, not standing up.

The other thing is, when I compared Kongo to Hunt, it was predicated on the fact that both Kongo and Hunt have less than impressive ground games (although lately Hunt showed great promise against Fedor) and Crocop could exploit that by taking them down. I never said Hunt was as good a striker as Kongo but I still believe that Crocop would up his chances of not losing if he took Kongo down.

Yes. Kongo has THE WORST ground game I've ever seen. Cro Cops ground game is decent, more than good enough to beat Kongo. But I'm gonna go with Cro Cop by KO.

Well Kongo doesn't have much of a chance yes cro cop has the better ground game and a better stand up the only thingkongo has is the ability to slam cro cop which might help but will probably be his down fall I see Cro Cop wining KO Second Round

Anyone who can throw a real punch will KO Cro Cop because he has an egg shell chin.

Oh yeah wasn't CC traing with that guy Werdum who beat that other guy Gonzaga? how did that turn out???

Not saying CC is going to lose but because you have MMath training partners doesn't mean much.
