how do they refer to mixed martial arts in german? thanks!

Hm, got friends over there.

As far as i remember there is a FreeFightAssociation or something of that nature, so my guess would be they call it Free Fighting. That, or Vale Tudo xD

The "Kampfsport" of MMA is called MMA or 'Free Fight'. Yes, the English terms. Many languages adopt English terms.

I wish we could update the English terminology at some point. "MMA" is kind of a clumsy way to describe the sport. "Free Fighting" seems more direct.

Isn't Kampfsport more of a general term like martial arts?

I've heard mixed martial arts described as both mix fight and free fight in German.
