Latin or Greek?
Hey, Guys. Is there anyone here with true skills or appreciation in classical Westerm languages? Studied Spanish through High School, German through College, but the direction would have been Latin/Greek, as far as interest. If there are any antique scholors, I would like to talk to you if you have the time.

I've studied Latin for 5 years in high school but that's not a language i really like or handle with such a great skill.
Btw here in Italy you can find a lot of people with skills in those languages.

There's a quick response. Riccardi, I have to laugh, 5 years of Latin and you slough it off. That's either arrogance or coolness. We've talked before, you'll probably remember more than me.
For the sake of shit and your work in P&M, do you have a larger version of your av you like up?
To continue, ...is there anyone with a background in classical Greek language?

Thanks!!
Is it possible to have an avatar of this size?
http://i30.tinypic.com/2lwx3c3.gif
just kidding, let me know what you mean exactly with "bigger" and i'll send you the resized avatar.
Talking about latin, that's a very difficult language to handle on a high level, even my ex girflriend, who has a master in "Classical Literature" (that pretty much means Latin and Ancient Greek) and has just became a teacher of those 2 languages, can't make proper translations without using a dictionary.Btw if you'll decide to study Latin i'll give you some help.
On a side note, i don't know a shit about Ancient Greek, but i remember she told me that it was even harder than Latin.

Avatars need to stick around platinum status: 125x125-size-wise. Put in what you need after that for effects and it should be good to go.

As for the Ancient Greek Language, I'm very serious. Anyone who speaks or knows anyone who teaches, I would like to show the seriousness. ...

That's true really with any language. College isn't the place to learn a language well. But unfortunately for languages like Latin and Ancient Greek, it might be one of the only places.
DMF, why the interest? I'm just curious.

Dead languages can only be learned at school or with courses.
Btw I've studied for 3 years french at school and after that period i have been able to speak it, not like i would have done after 1 year of living in france, but i was able to speak it decently.
You can't do thet Ancient Greek or Latin , after 3 years of study of that language you are still a noob.

ancient greek isn't too bad once you overcome the alphabet, although like latin you need a good course that covers the absolute basics because you can't read anything even after 3years.
i prefer ancient languages - its like solving a code it also helps your english.
