Icon2 Will there be another dominant Gracie family fighter in MMA?

Will there be a next generation of Gracie's that have the skills to be competitive in MMA?

Before 2000, the Gracie's were 'invincible'
==============================
In the early days, wins over Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Oleg Taktarov, Assuerio Silva, Sanae Kikuta and Maurice Smith highlighted the Gracie resume… the combined Gracie MMA record during prior to 2000 was an impressive 39-2-4… Royce, Rickson and Renzo Gracie combined for 30 of those wins as well as 6 tournament championships. The only official losses for the Gracie family in those days were contraversial… the first was back in 1994 when Royce threw in the towel before his fight with Harold Howard even began (due to injuries from his earlier fight with Kimo), and in 1999 Royler Gracie (who was outweighed by 30 lbs) lost by referee stoppage late in the fight against Kazushi Sakuraba… Royler argued that the fight should have continued.

2000 until now, the Gracie fighters fall from Grace
====================================
Crosley and Rodrigo both lost their fights at the K-1 event earlier this month, adding two more losses to the Gracie's MMA record, which now stands at 25-20-5 from 2000 until now. During this time, fighters with the last name 'Gracie' have posted wins against some good fighters like Masakatsu Funaki, Kiuma Kunioku, Dokonjonosuke Mishima, Hayato Sakurai and Ikuhisa Minowa…. But it's hard to ignore the fact that in the 50 fights Gracie's have been in since 2000, they have only won half of them…. Will there be another dominant MMA fighter to come out of the illustrious Gracie family or has MMA evolved past the "first family of MMA"?

4-5 years ago, the rumors of a new breed of Gracies, Daniel (6'2" 225 lbs), Rodrigo (6' 185 lbs), and Crosley (5'11" 180 lbs) were being discussed... but since Daniel's loss to Kazuhiro Nakamura, Rodrigo's losses to BJ Penn and Shungo Oyama, and Crosley's back to back losses to Akihiro Gono and Melvin Manhoef, it seems to be more hype than hope for the Gracie family.

The irony is it was the Gracie's who showed the importance of the takedown and submission technique, but for some reason did not embrace the striking dimension of fighting... nowadays with most fighters able to sprawl and defend submission attempts, the pure Gracie ground fighting style is so much less effective than it used to be.

What happened to Ryan? He's 5-2 and won his last four fights, but hasn't fought in more than a year and a half!

I read he took jui-jitsu more seriously after his brother Rockson died. Anyone know how he died?
