He has a good point. The huggers will make any excuse under the sun if their fighter loses. Some of the shit that comes out is so fucked up it makes no sense.

Thats cause those 3 fighters are special due to their respective styles: CC's LHK and stalking style is now legenedary, Shogun in his prime was so dynamic he made everyone he fought look like a monkey and Wand, well he's pretty the embodiment of everything brutal about MMA.
If he were every to go into acting, he'd make the perfect Wolverine.

The worse part is when they say;

"Shogun will rape Griffen in ...a rematch...Pride...on the street etc."
or
"Crocop will own GG if...they fought 2 years ago...fight in a ring...etc"

Wand lost to Chuck because...didnt win the 2nd rd...Chuck said he was going to keep the fight standing...Dana White etc.

Thats like me saying Tito lost to Machida cuz he was injured or that Jardine lost to Wand because he got caught.
He doesnt have a valid point he is just trying to goad their fans into arguing with him becuase he doesnt think those fighters are that good.

I havent even heard of half of these excuses. Did anyone at all make excuses for Jardine or Tito, cuase im pretty sure everyone was happy about the way those ended. And if someone says fighter X lost becuase he gassed or got cuaght, that isnt an excuse it is a reason.

As for Shogun, people probably have a reason to claim he was injured since he has had 2 surgeries for it now and still isnt back to form. Before you argue about whether it's true or not understand that I dont care either way, but you should probably just except that it might be true on that one.

Yes. I think Urijah is in the 6-10 range.
I put Fedor, Anderson, GSP, Penn and Rampage in the top 5 right now.
I'm not sold on who is in what position though. I think all those guys have arguments for 1-5.

More business than bad blood when Jackson meets Griffin at UFC 86
NEIL DAVIDSON

The Canadian Press

June 26, 2008 at 7:17 PM EDT

The main event at UFC 86 will be more about business than bad blood when Quinton (Rampage) Jackson defends his light-heavyweight title July 5 against Forrest Griffin.

The two are coming off a stint as rival coaches on The Ultimate Fighter reality TV show. But unlike some past seasons (think Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock, B.J. Penn and Jens Pulver, Matt Hughes and Matt Serra), not many sparks flew. Threats were largely replaced by one-liners.

The drama for Jackson-Griffin will come in the cage at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, rather than in front of a microphone.

“I fight for a living,” Jackson explained in a conference call Thursday. “I don't think it would be fair if I fight people while I was pissed off. Wouldn't even be a fair fight. They shouldn't even allow me to fight if I was pissed off.

“I'm happy. Happy to be making money, happy to be in the UFC. Happy to be defending my title.”

Griffin, who sometimes can seem in his own zone, was just as matter-of-fact.

“Whether you like the guy or hate him, it doesn't matter,” added Griffin. “You're going to hit him as hard as you can. It doesn't really matter how you feel.”

The two exited the TV show the way they came in, as far as their relationship is concerned.

“Nothing changed. I don't really know Forrest that well,” Jackson said. “He's a cool guy but he's an opponent.”

“I'm pretty careful not to make friends with other guys who fight at 205 (pounds),” noted Griffin.

Still Griffin knows that Jackson changes persona when he fights. He becomes Rampage, substituting a big scowl for his trademark big smile.

“He's a nice enough guy, easy to get along,” Griffin told The Canadian Press in an interview prior to the TV show airing. “The thing about Quinton is when you look across the cage and you see that scowl, you know what you're in for. You know he's not joking any more.”

Like Jackson, Griffin says there is no point wasting emotion outside the cage. “Save it for when you need it,” said the former Georgia police officer.

The two mixed martial arts fighters did not make any waves Thursday during a pre-fight conference call. Jackson did say he thought Griffin actually lost the TUF Season 1 finale to Stephan Bonnar (Griffin won by unanimous decision in a memorable April 2005 fight seen as a watershed in the sport) but tempered the comment later by calling Griffin an exciting fighter.

“A tough guy. A guy who don't quit. I like guys like that.” he said.

Jackson also said that Griffin's last victim, Mauricio (Shogun) Rua, was a shadow of the fighter he was in Pride. Jackson's last loss was a KO at the hands of Rua in 2005 in a Pride tournament. Jackson has won all six fights since.

Griffin seems unfazed by the comment, saying Rua came into the bout hurt. “I still thought it was a pretty good fight,” he added.

Griffin also had health problems and took the next five months off following shoulder surgery. He hurt his shoulder three weeks before fighting Elvis Sinosic at UFC 55 in October 2005. Over the years, the shoulder just got worse, often causing him to wake up in pain if he rolled over a certain way.

“I'd wake up every morning, real stiff and achy. It sucked.”

He finally went under the knife after the Rua fight. The joint has been stabilized but his shoulder is now missing a few parts.

Jackson and Griffin are popular fighters. Jackson (27-6) is a charismatic entertainer while the quirky Griffin (15-4) has commanded a considerable following since winning “The Ultimate Fighter.”

Both men can be oddballs one moment and surprisingly frank the next. The latter side came out when Griffin was asked about his biggest concern in facing Jackson.

“Power. He hits hard. I don't have the best chin in the world,” he said.

Jackson, meanwhile, didn't pull any punches when asked about his confidence.

“It depends on how hard I train,” he said. “When I know that I trained real hard and I had a good training camp, that's when I'm very confident. But sometimes I don't train hard and I don't feel that confident.”

Jackson, 30, said he did the work this time, extending his training camp at Big Bear in California to seven weeks instead of five and being true to his diet.

“I didn't have a cheat day,” he said. “That's what I get for getting so fat. It made me hungrier and stronger in training and made me meaner. It worked out perfectly. Everything happens for a reason.”

Griffin, 29, said his weight did not go up during the recent layoff.

“Last time I got that fat, I decided I was never going to do that again,” he said. “That was, I guess, over a year ago. I try to keep it (my weight) down.

“I certainly did not skip my cheat days,” he added.

The two are coming off long layoffs, not having fought since September. Jackson won a unanimous decision over former Pride champion Dan Henderson at UFC 75 on Sept. 8 while Griffin submitted Rua at UFC 76 on Sept. 22.

“Hell, I needed that layoff,” Jackson said. “I had three hard training camps last year.”

“Nine months is perfect,” added the father of four. “I could have had another baby if I wanted to. ... It was good for my body. I never get a chance to fight at 100 per cent but I'm the closest to 100 per cent I've ever been in my life. I'm glad I had that time off.”

“I was pretty banged up, so I got to heal up,” added Griffin, who ended the talk of layoffs by saying: “I don't guess it matters then, it's about the same for both of us.”

Asked about his take on Jackson, Griffin pointed to his rapid evolution in the sport.

“He got good quick, that's something I noticed. He went from a guy that was just kind of brawling to all of a sudden he could defend submissions and he was taking people down, Thai-clinching people.”

Griffin also said he had thought he could exploit Jackson's conditioning but changed his mind after watching him spend five rounds with Henderson.

“I was pretty impressed,” he said.

He did see some weaknesses, however.

“A couple of things, but I don't really want to mention them,” he said with a chuckle. “We' ll see if they work on the fifth, maybe, maybe not.”

NOTES — Jackson said he brought Season 7 cast members Jeremy May, Mike Dolce and Gerald Harris up to his training camp ... Griffin says he prepared with the help of Mike Whitehead, who “does a real good job of simulating Quinton” ... Griffin, who coached Amir Sadollah on TUF, says the Season 7 winner is best suited to welterweight rather than middleweight. “I think he'll do a lot better there, style-wise, reach-wise, strength(-wise).” ... Jackson said he was disappointed that runner-up C.B. Dollaway, whom he coached, initially protested he did not tap out in Saturday's loss to Sadollah in Las Vegas. “C.B., he has a lot of growing up to do,” he said. ... Former welterweight champion Matt Hughes says he suffered a torn medial collateral ligament and partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his UFC 85 loss to Thiago Alves earlier this month. “We're going to hold off on surgery right now,” he said on his official website (matt-hughes.com). “I am going to get a second opinion this week, so that might change.” ... (Ruthless) Robbie Lawler and Scott (Hands of Steel) Smith will meet again on the second CBS EliteXC show July 26. Their first meeting for the EliteXC middleweight title was declared a no contest May 31 after Stone got an unintentional finger in the eye. Also on the July 26 card, Jake Shields meets Nick Thompson for the EliteXC welterweight title while lightweight Nick Diaz faces Thomas (Wildman) Denny. Heavyweight Antonio (Big Foot) Silva will also be featured on the four-fight broadcast from Stockton, Calif.
Fucking Nuthuggers!!!

I understand completely. But lots of fighters are special, Chuck lost to Rampage cuz he got KTFO. BJ Penn lost to Hughes the 2nd time because he was out muscled. Tito lost to Chuck because he cant take him down. Its reality fighters win and fighters lose. It is something that at the highest level of MMA has to be accepted.

But Wand and Crocop have fought each other! So what happens if someone is a fan of both guys? The resulting paradox could destroy the fabric of reality!

I think you'd better retract your observation, just to be on the safe side.
