ive been on other boards(whether it be cars, sports, other hobbies) and do not see the magnitude of hostility and confrontation attitude i see on here? perhaps it all has to do with the nature of the what we're posting about? we're all passionate about mma but cant we all get along and be more respectful than passing judgement so quickly?
and yes, im a white belt but have followed mma since the inception of the ufc. ive seen the changes and excited about the next couple years when we really see the sport become mainstream and evolve into something huge. hopefully, fighters will be compensated for truly what they deserve.
Basically what it really comes down to is people thinking they know it all. Forums are supposed to be about people expressing there opinion but a lot of the time when you do the elders here (the know it alls) think that the only peoples opinion that matters is theirs or they decide to pick apart your post because they have a different opinion and to them you're dead wrong. Then since you just registered you have people saying you're a TUF noob constantly because you think one thing and they think another it gets really old really quick. Just the other day there was a topic asking when and how people got in to watching MMA and as I'm scrolling down you have people say 2000, 2001 and so on yet there talking shit to people who have been following from the inception of the sport because why again they think they know it all. Anyway if someone gives you shit fire right back.

You're dealing with a lot of different age groups in here and you genenerally don't know how old the poster is. A lot of the white belts are white belts because they wait until they have something to say rather than... well you know. I do have more respect for SHERDOG's mod's and how on top of things they really are but only after joing recently.

Also, I've been watching MMA since UFC 3 so , no newb here.

Unfortunately, people here really do think these belts mean something. As far as repetitive, goofy, and outright stupid threads and comments that are made by white belts, I think, is a direct result of new MMA fans created by TUF. I've been into MMA since UFC 1 and trained BJJ, but the casual fan who become members here have a knowledge base of MMA and the long history of fighters and how the sport has evolved, hence, the idiotic comments and threads.

I think it looks worse if you have a shit load of posts in a short amount of time. I was on sherdog with the EZ boards and before. I read a lot of posts but find that most of them are pointless to reply to. Some people will also make multiple accounts and post stupid shit with their white belt accounts. Point being look at the join date, and sometimes that doesn't mean anything either.. Most people don't post 3,000 intellegent posts in a month.

WASTELAND!!!!!!

Hey jackass if you want to have a moment and share your feelings why don't you tune into Oprah. If you want to talk about MMA then do it. What part of Sherdog is a MMA website that you don't understand?

I think most of the whitebelt hate comes from a lack and disregard of sherdog forum etiquette. Not so much a lack of MMA knowledge, like posting off topic threads in MMA. Starting a thread to ask a common question, ignoring the forum FAQ's, etc
