Also, TS, how do you explain the fact that so many people, whether fans of Shogun's or not, saw clearly that he didn't look like he did in pride in terms of conditioning and ability?

Shogun excuses do need to stop, but so does blind bashing of fighters.
In case you weren't aware, Shogun beat Rampage, Nogueira, Overeem and Arona in less than a year. That doesn't happen without some measure of skill, and for you to completely ignore that is ridiculous.

again, any top 10 fighter would have mangled shogun with the condition he was in during that fight. forrest barely managed to finish him.
all these people that think his loss was somehow due to a lack of skill, preparation, or anything indicating something other than a poor choice to fight is just deluding themselves. and people who think forrest is somehow this magically amazing fighter out of nowhere are even more deluded.
when rampage obliterates forrest, then people will realize his fight w/ shogun was a fluke.

you know your shit sucks when not only do you put your foot in your mouth, you make a bunch of other assholes put their foots in their mouths for blindly following you.
in either case, if you've been following news on his training, he hasn't really changed methodologies

Pull your thumb out of your mouth and wipe away the tears Alice, I wasn't insulting your boy. I said I like Shogun, but being bombarded every day about how great he is and that he's invincible and the Forrest funeral and blah blah blah kinda wears on you for a while. I said his fans are jackoffs, not him. Stop rattling the bars of your crib okay?? Shogun will be back. Take a breather and go eat some apple sauce. In comes that airplane..........!

Regardless Shogun is a huge prospect for the UFC and I hope he comes back from his injury and looks as impressive as he did in his Pride days.
