Shogun excuses by sherdoggers

Anybody remember the thread, it was right around the time he lost to Forrest, when everybody was making mock excuses for his loss? It was the funniest thread, with everybody coming up with outlandish shit. This one guy said "Shogun actually suffered a heart attack on his way to the cage." And than somebody else said "Yeah, didn't you see his cornermen shocking him back to life?" It got deleted, unfortuantely. I'll never get over that thread.

Funny how Forrest really only has beaten a one legged Shogun.
Shogun just does not want to make excuses for his defeat like a lot of fighters do. I don't think any top 205er in the past 5 years has beat as many top fighters in the 205 weight class.

You don't just think it, it's fact.

Chuck hasn't beat any top LHWs except Randy and maybe Ortiz if you can say that Ortiz is a top LHW, but I don't think he's been that since like 2001.

Wand, as much as I love him, his only wins against top LHWs were Rampage and Arona.

Rampage only has Chuck and Arona and Dan.

But Shogun has Rampage, Lil Nog, Overeem and Arona... by far, he's beaten the most top competition... it's like Gomi, no one has beaten as many top LWs but for some reason one single loss has made him a can in the Sherdog noobs' eyes.

I'm with you on that one. It's shocking how fast people jump ship once a fighter loses. It's MMA for gods sake, Forrest got KTFO by Jardine and is now fighting for the title. One loss doesnt define your career, especially in a combat sport that has a fairly high rate of losing like MMA.

I've been saying Shogun's overrated for SEVERAL years now. His striking is sloppy, his defense is weak, and he doesn't get away with it as well as the old wandy did because he doesn't have the speed, power, or aggression that Wandy does (new wandy is a MUCH better fighter since he's been in the UFC than he was in Pride).

That's where i stopped reading.
