There will always be simularities between pro wrestling and MMA as far as what certain moves are called, or submissions or whatever. but thats because both of them deal with the aspect of combat. MMA is just real combat while pro wrestling isn't.

You mean Pro Wrestling isn't real? Next you will be telling me there is no Santa Claus!

However, they were pretty hot during the mid-1990's and soon sizzled out, too. UFC is a complete fad and it's already dying off with diminishing ratings on Spike TV. But to "respond" to the WWE is laughable. UFC, you aren't even in the same class as the WWE financially and on success terms. Secondly, I'll take a HEALTHY Kurt Angle over any of your UFC fighters. Make sure you read my word "healthy", as an Olympic Gold Medalist being trained to be a MMA fighter would absolutely kill any fighter that UFC has to offer. In fact, it wouldn't even be close. Even with UFC's adjusted rules to limit ground fighters, Angle would still kick UFC's ass. UFC can talk smack in return all they want. They know that a healthy Kurt Angle could mop the floor with any of their fighters. Therefore, UFC should just shut up and realize that mixed martial arts and professional wrestling are two different entities and should be focused on as such.

Ok, so that guy's a moron who doesn't know shit about MMA and hasn't seen how well pure wrestlers who don't crosstrain fare in today's MMA world. Wrestlers who can't defend against subs are going to probably get subbed, and if they don't move on the ground because they're afraid of getting subbed, the fight's getting stood up and that's another chance for the wrestler to get KO'ed or taken down himself.

And I'm sure someone will remind him of the ratings tumble RAW and Smackdown have taken in the last few years, as well as a tumble in PPV buys.

Well, when it comes to ability to fight,

MMA training and condition > Steroids and makeup

He brings up a good point. If Angle had of stayed healthy and done MMA he would have been an all time great I feel. However, clearly the WWE is trying to steal some of the UFC's thunder with this storyline. Calling them out on it may be considerd foolish though. Just because the WWE isn't ment to be taken as a legit competition.

I agree with your equation, but Most pro wrestlers have pretty good cardio vascular condition man, those matches are long and grueling.

In no doubt what they do is physically demanding or at times very athletic. However, it in no way gears them to be competitive in an MMA event. I'll take Mir (known to gas early) over any fake wrestler out there. Angle is the obvious choice in the WWE's best chances, but is only hope is to lnp a victory and avoid subs that he probably knows little about.

Well, I've been a Pro Wrestling fan my whole life, and am till this day. However, it doesn't even make sense to say any pro wrestler would have a chance with even the weakest UFC fighter.
