white belt vs other belt controversy

ive been a sherdog lurker for the past few months and decided to register just a couple weeks ago. ive noticed a trend on sherdog to pick-in posters that have white belt status and have their creditability discounted by default. sure, some of the white belt posters are newbies and should really practice using the search feature but the same goes for those with larger post counts that amount to higher belts. im seen my share of idiotic comments by sherdog vets. y is there such a huge animosity and feeling of superiority towards those with less post counts? having a higher post count doesnt necessarily mean you have anymore knowledge than the rookie poster?
ive been on other boards(whether it be cars, sports, other hobbies) and do not see the magnitude of hostility and confrontation attitude i see on here? perhaps it all has to do with the nature of the what we're posting about? we're all passionate about mma but cant we all get along and be more respectful than passing judgement so quickly?
and yes, im a white belt but have followed mma since the inception of the ufc. ive seen the changes and excited about the next couple years when we really see the sport become mainstream and evolve into something huge. hopefully, fighters will be compensated for truly what they deserve.

White belts get hated on due to norms, we get some whit ebelts who make stupid threads when some white belts have valued info, other don't and make stupid stuff, example last night one was claiming Fedor to be a rappest.

Don't sweat it, these aren't real belts. Browse, read, post when you want, just use common sense. it's a forum, not high school...

^ see, here's a yellow from over a year before me, but im sure some asswipes that eat, sleep, and breathe the sherdog faq have labeled him a newb.

it's hard not to jump the gun and label some one, but i tend to look at the join date. there are plenty of brown belts from 05 and a shitload of whitebelts that have joined in the past few months.
i try to focus on the posts. white, brown, green..... whatever. a lot of newbies have some nice insight or info that i might not have.

let all the asswipes spend their days chalkin up posts so they can get that black belt they never got outta the house. best u could do is ignore the flamers. alot of the browns and blacks have useful info n great opinions.

best way to gain knowledge is here. ive been here even before jun 03, but every one of my posts has been mma forum.

I agree. I have been registered on this board for a while, and have followed mma since the 2nd ufc, but am still "just" a white belt. if i don't feel like anything I have to say would be beneficial to the thread I happen 2 be reading, i don't post. that seems to automatically make me a noob 2 some punks who have only been here a month, but have 400 posts already, mostly shitty ones at that. a big part of the problem is, most of the threads started by white belts i've seen have been truely retarded. the "who is your favorite fighter" and "why is fedor the best" crap puts a black mark on us all.

I agree with the threadstarter, and try to show by example that not all white belts are annoying.
I've been a reader here for a few years, and never bothered to register, because it seemed very much like going into a bar that you know is full of wankers. I am glad I did though, as there a lot of intelligent people who post serious comments, and I can now respond to them.

Sherdog belt < wearing a TKD BB to a BJJ academy.
